Jungleflasher slows down PC
Anybody have problems with jungleflasher slowing down your PC? Its a great program and is very easy to use but this is a concern for me as I dont want it to freeze. I do have drivers uninstalled and disabled. Just wondering if anybody has a solution to this besides using I prep.

The reason you have not gotten an answer imo is because your question is too vague....when does it slow your computer down? WHat are you doing at the time? Hit us back with a clearer question

OK I have the drive connected with via 6421pci card. Drivers removed. It usually slows down my pc when i cut the drive on just before opening jf, or if i cut it on while jf is open. (tried both ways). I have moved the via card to a different pci slot to know avail. Maybe im missing something, or is this normal? It does work though as I have flashed a few drives so far.

I shouldnt really say its a problem with jungleflasher, its a problem with my computer or via card.

Re: Jungleflasher slows down PC
VIA card PLUS JF is a known problem .....I am sorry but your best bet at this point is to switch to iPrep....iPrep is a wonderful tool and it is most straightforward....that will be your quickest solution....sorry man.
I am not saying via with JF is impossible but to troubleshoot a computer to flash one drive is not worth it. If your intending on doing more than one drive and are intent on using JF then I would say to you get an older computer with on board sata to use with JF especially with the Liteon drives

Re: Jungleflasher slows down PC
Yeah I have heard of problems with jf and via. Like I said it has work so far with about 10 xboxes I have flashed. It just slows down so much its kinda scary sometimes. It mainly just takes a few seconds for mouse commands to work or what not so its no big deal I hope. BTW I have a dell dimension 2350 old school lol but has some upgrades and works for what I need it for. I probably wont ever buy a desktop again considering laptops are more convienient.

Shootsteel I have been to your shop before what kind of dell do you have? It looks like an older dimension like mine. Do you have onboard sata on that?

Re: Jungleflasher slows down PC
I actually have two one with a via card (dell) that I use for iPrep and one with onboard sata(e-machine) that I use with Jf.....additionally I now have a laptop(lenovo) that will flash everything like a champ with JF.
Who went out and bought one of those laptops I told everyone about? Just like to know. (<---thread jacking in progress)

Lenovo huh? I got one layin around here I'll have to try that after i get this my desktop straight. So far what i have been doin is flashing everything other than liteons with my drivers installed because it is super fast, and when I do a liteon I just go through the whole delete driver and disable via card process.
Re: Jungleflasher slows down PC
I have the same issue.
I also use a old dell inspiron(unsure on the model), so it seems to be an issue on that pc.
Although I can successfully flash a Liteon and any other drive using Jungleflasher. When I flash a Liteon it is extremely slow and frustrating. It takes up to an hour to save all the files. each click is delayed by a minute or two.
But next time I will try using iprep.
I use:
Via VT6421A
Connectivity Kit Pro
Probe Spear
I would like to thank Robinhoods Playground and Cofree for his videos and posts, great work.

Re: Jungleflasher slows down PC
Old post but yeah I changed my method and it works great for me. When i do a liteon I just use jungleflasher to get the key and build my custom firmware. Then i just flash the custom firmware with dosflash32. It works great.
