Drive not recognized

Post by joshtbuff »

I just got a new drive with Kreon firmware for making my own backups. The drive is great. I can see it easily in "My Computer" but when I go to output my new backup there isnt an option for the drive.

For instance if I use ImgBurn or CDClone in the drive option it only has (G:) but the new drive is (E:). But it isnt being detected as a source. What can I do to get these programs to recognize the drive so I can burn my new backups?

even Xbox Backup Creator recognizes the device but doesnt give me the option to use it. It is in the drop down menu, but the start button never lights up even with a blank disc in the drive.

How do you have the drive connected to your computer? I've always had to have the drive set as primary master on the secondary channel when I connected it via IDE cable. I have mine in an external USB case now though.

the drive that is recognized is the main drive i guess. It has been hooked up for a while. It is connected through IDE. The new drive is connected with a SATA cable.

Kreon drives are ROM, you can't burn anything with them :)

just about any DL burner can burn backups

This helps a lot. Kinda sucks though as I was hoping to use this burner for duel purposes. My other dl burner stopped working.
