awesome, thanks guys

I got the 360 last night and It was pretty funny when I went to Best Buy they had all these 360 Arcade Units (10 or so) and I began scrounging around the pile and came across some lot 742s, 743s and 745s. Of course best buy sucks and doesnt have any open lines to the outside internet, and I didn't know what drives were in 745 so i used the ipod touch demo at best buy to go to the xbox dvd drive database and look it up :?

It was pretty funny, looking up that kind of stuff on best buy's own toys in order to get the right xbox...i wanted to flash it using one of their computers

Didn't want to start a new post and clutter things, but I know certain games ie Assassin's Creed are going to want me to update my console before they will play.

Is this going to render my newly flashed xbox unusable???? Is it dangerous to update or should I not care...I don't play online but I don't want updating to make it so I can't play my games

Shouldn't be a problem to update. My 360 has every update for every game that I've played and it's caused no problems as of yet. I may get banned from xbox live one of these days though.

yeah, I play on live. I only use originals on live though.

Cofree, I sent rbjtech a message. Only contact info I could find was a PM on a certain other forum. I hope he still checks that account for messages.

I agree with the statement...this place is much more friendlier than xbox-scene. I appreciate all the great facts and help i have gotten here.

+1... i am brand new to all of this, except for the old school PS hacking days, and this forum blows all the others away! So easy to find the info i need and all of you are very helpful. I'm mostly lurking and soaking in all the info i can for now as i wait for a few more things to come in and then i'm gonna dive in head first. I'll be posting questions very soon i'm sure ;)
