You said you were using Verbatims, so I would have to say you're burner might need to be replaced.
Try burning another backup with and watch the Device Buffer (not the memory buffer).
If it empties and refills at anytime during the burn, it's probably time for a replacement.

So I sent a game I burned to the guy who sent me one of his. He said it plays perfect for him. & the disc he sent me plays on mine. But when I burn my own & try an play it...they don't work. WTF. I showed him my burning process & he said its good.

Maybe try another brand of disc. The made in india (or indonesia one or t'other) verbs are quite temperamental if they're the ones you're using. Ask your mate to send you a couple of his blanks and burn them to see if they work.

Are you using firmware version 1.51 or 1.5. I had the same problem on my BenQ drive when I was running the 1.5 then I upgraded to the 1.51 because I wanted to play Hawx and was not able to do so on 1.5. You can also try going down to 1.4 that wont hurt. I don't think that it is your burner and obviously if your buddy can play the game you made your burner is burning correctly. Try to put in the hacked firmware but set it to 8x and see if it works instead of doing the 12x which is what most people are using.

i think you are flash a benq drive

if that is the case
then yes
you reflash it just like it has never been flash before.

build your ipre v8.8 with the v1.51 benq hack firmware
boot on the flash
dump
after firmtool builds your hacked firmware
then you flash.

iprep will need a def file update for it to load in the v1.51 firmware
have a read here on how to do that.

I made this post before & its still what is going on:

Do you think its because I am using 1.5 that the game isn't playing? The game is Skate 2. Do you think if I upgrade to 1.51 it will work?

No. The only "back up game" that has worked was the one he sent me. Which is Jumper. I'll upgrade to 1.51 tonight when I get off work & then I'll post up how it works out or if it does.

yeah I meant make you firmware on the drive read 8x instead of the 12x. I also said to downgrade to 1.4 stealth not non stealth just as a test. I just read your last post and was scratching my head for a bit. The only thing I am thinking is that some drives dont like some games or DVD formats. I have made games for friends that dont work on their consoles and my benQ reads it. If your friend can play his and your games and you can play his and not yours. I thin it is a problem with either your hardware or media. You dont loose anything trying out the 1.51 and see if that helps, but I dought it. Wish you the best of luck with the update tonight.

Yeah, some drives are picky over the media thats used in them. But I think he told me he was using verbatims, so that shouldn't be an issue, unless his laser is just really underpowered. If even one of his buddies games works in it, then the firmware shouldn't be the problem either. I think it's going to be down to 2 things. Either a really picky drive or an underpowered laser.
