HaGGardSmurf wrote:Well what you bought from new egg is probably MII or MIP. MIS are pretty expensive, a 15 pack is like 35.00 at most places ive seen.

You should still get a high success rate, as long as you burn at a low speed.

The way you can tell its MI(x) is by looking on the label, look for a bunch of chinese and japanese characters and somewhere either above or below that it will say in small font Made In (x) then MI(x)

I think it only has a mkm, but i could be reading it wrong.

either way i have had a 100% ratio with 6 out of 6 working!

As long as you have a decent burner most if not all verbatim's should work fine.

Turns out MII is like made in indonesia, and MIT is taiwan and theres a few more... A buddy of mine googled it in future shop last time we were there, I explained to him MIS is the highest quality DVD+R DL's produced but he decided to google it..

cool, i am using a pioneer 11d burner that i picked up a couple years ago for this reason (and for the wii) knowing that i would use it in the future for the 360.

Thanks HaGGardSmurf for all your help. That goes the same for Commando.. and anyone else who gave me a hand.

Damn, that drive is still kicking after a couple years? Most burners lasers will only last for a year or so, then the quality of burning will decrease and decrease.

haha well the time placed on the diode relies ont he fact that you burn an average of x disks each month... So if you just had it sitting in your comp for a while, and/or hardly used it, you should be fine. My last burner was a lite-on it lasted about 2 years. I bought an LG, and its working perfectly, I burned a perfect copy of my NHL 09 which is scratched to hell...

Hardly used it, well my chipped wii states otherwise! Fingers crossed!!! If it did die in the near future, i would probably go with another pioneer. But hell, i see they are like up to 118 and higher and who knows if they are good for 360/wii games.

Yea, they should be fine with them. I have a 40 dollar LG burner I bought a week maybe 2 ago, and its working like a champ.

I dont know if you have a 'memory express' around where you live, but they have incredible warrenty's. Memory express is a parts store for computers, and its where I built mine, when I bought this new burner they explained this 5 dollar warranty they have. If you pay 5 bucks they will cover the drive up to 4 years, and if the laser goes they will replace it with no questions.

So really im set for 4 years now... :P
