Hi,
I would like to simply use JF but my problem with it is that every time I power up the LITEON drive in windows, 30 seconds later windows just locks up on me.
I have NO VIA DRIVERS INSTALLED at all and I have installed PORTIO32 AND NET.frame 3.5. AND the USB driver.
Every thing works ok if I turn the drive on first BEFORE I boot into windows but as soon as I do the power cycle it hangs and I havent even used the erase command yet?
I only need to upgrade from Extreme 1.5 to 1.6 so as its only a simple upgrade it would be perfect on this occation to just use JF but I just carnt suz the freezing issue.
Running XP btw
Any ideas Folks

Have you entertained the idea of using iprep 9? It won't hang up in dos like it is in windows for you.

The only problem there is that the tut for Iprep 9 shows how to flash buy extracting the key first, I only want to upgrade my Firmware and dont see how I can do this using Iprep 9, It would be good to see a tut for just upgrading rarther than having to extract the key again, I know I dont need to extract the key again becaue its already been flashed to Extreme 1.5.
Every time you google the PC FREEZING issue people ASSUME this is becuse you have used the Erase command, but in my case its BEFORE.. If I could stop it freezing OR find out how to use Iprep to UPGRADE to Extreme 1.6. (I still have all my original files from when I flashed it the very first time so there must be a way round it for me)
I will be having another go tonight anyway so I will be reading these forums alot:)

You will need to dump the drive again if you dont have the key to hand, it dont matter that you have ixtreme already on there you still need to have the key so you can upgradeGallows wrote:The only problem there is that the tut for Iprep 9 shows how to flash buy extracting the key first, I only want to upgrade my Firmware and dont see how I can do this using Iprep 9, It would be good to see a tut for just upgrading rarther than having to extract the key again, I know I dont need to extract the key again becaue its already been flashed to Extreme 1.5.

You said that you have the original firmware just laod that into JF as your source firmware and then use 1.6 as target then click spoof to target. then follow this tut viewtopic.php?f=197&t=7041" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its probably best to use iprep, but if you connect the drive while windows is loading (the boot screen) your likely to not freeze your comp.

It seems to me your having a power issue.If your using the the molex power from your computer,that would be the problem.Your xbox 360 drive is taking to much juice when you turn it on and it makes your hard drive act up.Try using a different power source for xbox 360 drive.
