This is my first attempt at flashing a drive. I don't have a spare of anything; no extra console, drive, ck3... Like I said before, I tested my probe with a multimeter and there's no resistance or noise through it to either end of the wire on the connectors. That should work, right? I picked up some wire and a serial port connector to make a serial cable, so I'm going to be trying iPrep very soon.
Is there anything I can do to improve the connection between the probe and r707?
Liteon does not enter mode b

I know your not getting any resistence or noise through the probe, but it is hard to say what or why it is not pulling the key. If I were you I would get the CK3 w/probe. I know it's like $80.00 US, but well worth it. Plus Xbox 360's aren't cheap, well they have came down in price, but who wants to go buy a new one.
Try JF again when you are finished making the RS232 cable and post back the results.

Argh.... ok, so I made my serial cable but it doesn't make a difference. iPrep can't read anything of this drive either. This is insane.....
"bad word" the probe, what do I solder? The two points above R707?

Sorry, to keep bothering you guys. I'm seriously about to give up on this though. I soldered r707 and it makes no difference, of course.
I get a key like CC CC CC.... when i try to extract with the ck3 software.
Is my ck3 bad? Is there anyway to check? This is the only thing left to check.... Who do I talk to if it is?

*BUMP*
I'm still trying to get this working.
Does no one really know? Has anyone else had stubborn liteons?

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
Hey have you gotten your key from your liteon yet? sounds aggravating. Sounds like you may have a bad ck3. It happens. Here is a link to building your own. Only do this if you are confident in soldering and electronic plans reading. you have to know the diffent pins on a transistor. I did it and it works great. There are also cautions to be used, like using your xbox to power your drive while unplugged. There is a theory that microsoft can see you on live if you do it that way. I don't know if it's ever been proven or not though. http://xbox-experts.com/tutorial.php?n=flashyourliteonf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Life is full of influences, It's your application that sets you apart.
Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
I already built a similar device to use with iPrep, but I didn't get anywhere with that either.
They banning for the disconnected drive is probably M$ FUD. I've already done that and nothing has happened. Could be because I didn't have the time set or the network cable in, but I've never seen that anywhere else.
I'm getting buried with homework recently, I'll try my diy connector in jungleflasher if I get some free time soon. Thanks for the link.
