The Wiki says that versions 1-4 hold the full version of DD-WRT (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Su ... ison_Table)...are you pretty sure only versions 1/2 have enough memory for the full version?sadalius wrote:If you can find a version 1 or 2, they have more memory and can hold the full version of dd-wrt, the V3 and up will hold the micro version, but work for general purposes just as good as the full version.
Xbox Live Ban Updates

Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
I had a v4 and it wouldn't hold the full version. I had read that v1 and 2 were the only two, but this was going by reading alone. I've only had the one v4, and that could have been a late v4 that had the memory cut down just prior to the v5's being released. So you might want to research the subject a little deeper. It could be that v3's and early v4's have enough to run the full version.

Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
Hey guys, didn't want to start another thread with just a simple question. I'm borrowing my friends xbox who has not been banned yet and I want to attach my hdd. i've been banned, but this won't affect my friends xbox at all right? thanks.

Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
man
i just dont know.
I would say no it should be fine BUT i think there is a risk there.
im not sure what i would do.There is content on your friends HD that will only play on his console. What that means to me is there is some talking back and forth from console to HD.If it mean buying him a new 360 if it get banned then i would say dont do it.If something happens and it gets banned and he is fine with it the what the hell.
oh yea
you should have just started your own thread. Its no big deal.the thread has talked about all kinds of things.

Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
I've read that most people believe that if you get banned, your account gets tagged and watched more closely. I can't say that for sure, but thats what I've read. Just having your account on another xbox won't hurt anything, but if that xbox is modded, then if they are monitoring accounts that have had banned consoles before more closely, then it may be easier for them to catch you again with this one. If its not modded, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
I remember reading that there was some speculation that *any* game played on a 360 that has the potential of alerting MS that the system is modded (i.e. bad rips, downloaded games with bad sectors, etc), whether played while connected to the internet or not, potentially writes data to the HD which can later be detected by MS. I realize this is only speculation, but if there is any validity to that notion, if any bad copies have been played on a machine with the HD attached, I'd say that it would be best not to connect that HD to another machine.

Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
I have read many times that 'your' xbox gets banned. What makes live know it is 'your' xbox? I thought they would just ban your live account. So if my xbox would get banned and i recover my gamertag on a friends xbox could i use live?
Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
No buddy, I'm pretty sure it's a known fact that MS bans the Xbox itself...permanently, not the gamertag...if you have Live subscription time on your gamertag, you can still utilize it on another console.

Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
your gamer tag is not what gets banned
its the console ID KEY
so that 360 cant get on live any more.
if you buy a new 360.then recover your gamer tag you can get on live.

Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
I know it was the console that got banned I just thought they would ban your live account too. I guess it is not as simple as just hacking it and changing the ID key.CoFree wrote:your gamer tag is not what gets banned

Someone should create some type of list to determine if bans occur only if you download game backups to backing them up yourself.
Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
its just to hard to do
most people dont remember where there backup came from.

Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
CoFree's right. Creating a list is one thing, but being able to keep it accurate is another. Some may have downloading a single game, but don't remember downloading it and say that they only played original backups created by themselves. Others would just plain say that they didn't download any games in an effort to try and force the point. Either which way, the accuracy of such a list would be moot.

Re: Xbox Live Ban Updates
I attempted to update a backup of Assassin's Creed a few days ago and once the bar came up I got disconnected from live and it would not let me sign in. I did a connection check and it stopped at Xbox live I clicked more info and it just gave me a blank screen. It was what it was supposed to look like http://www.slipperybrick.com/wp-content ... banned.jpg but there was no text. I clicked Y to get an error code and I googled it and it was the banned error code. But then the really strange part. I turned my Xbox off checked all my connections and plugged it back in and booted up tried again and still same error. Tried once more and it logged in: o and has been for the past few days.
I do not have an Xbox live subscription. I am only connecting to talk to friends and download some demos. If that has anything to do with it
