If mine is the 7k series I'll most likely chunk out the cash for a kit eventually, but if its the 8k, all I need to do is use jungleflasher and follow a tut right?
Thanks for all the responses guys.

Re: Liteon without CK3? Possible?
so how do you tell what kind of firmware is on your lite-on, is it on the drive itself? And is the kind that requires no probe an old version, or is that what they're shipping out lately, or is it completely random. I just bought my new box 2 days ago and I'm hoping its the 8 series or whatever, bec...

Re: Liteon without CK3? Possible?
This is the question I'm wondering. Before I go ahead and purchase all of the CK3 and probe etc stuff, do I really need it. I just got my new 360 pro yesterday, have flashed 2 BenQ's before. Everywhere I look it says "Lite on blah blah blah probe" So you're saying that if I have this 8k se...

Re: Weird e74 story, Need Help
Out of warranty. I know there's a xclamp, but is that for a complete different problem? Or should I just go without the xbox for a couple months and save up for a new one, ours is one from the first year it came out. And its been flashed, with the warranty sticker clearly removed and visible marking...

Weird e74 story, Need Help
I don't know exactly what happened. But my brother came and woke me up today, yelling at me franticly that the xbox was broken. I opened the door and his exact words were "I got this message that said "Don't Open This Message" and then he got a message from his friend saying "Nev...

Buying a New Drive?
So I bought a new drive after frying my last one, and it worked perfectly for about a month. Now I have the "Open Tray" problem. Apparently its related to a faulty laser? At least thats what I've heard. I got it from a recommended ebay seller on here, and I'm sure it was just my rotten luc...

Really Need Help, Successful Flash, Burning Smell
Hey guys, so I bought a second drive and after going through tons of stress and finally flashing it, success. It worked with a regular 360 game. Next tried my newly burnt copy of Prototype. Works. I was so happy. But now, just a couple minutes after reconstructing the 360 to the insides of its box, ...

iPrep flashing, no MTK/Vendor Mode
Hey guys, while I was atempting to flash my first BenQ, sometimes it would never do the MTK/vendor mode error/resend jaunt. It would go straight down the list, and give some info on the drive, but keep going. But it would then ask for the drive number, and after giving it, I could read/write/erase. ...

Re: benQ e65 need help!
currently waiting for my new benq drive, relieved by how cheap they are, makes flashing feel much safer as a noobie. Are there any precautions I should take in flashing this time around, besides just making sure the DVD drives power cords are in correctly? I want this time to go perfectly, I'm a bit...

Re: benQ e65 need help!
I'm really hoping it hasn't fried. I have taken into consideration that it has, and I guess if that's the case I'd be smart to buy a new drive. I'd still like to mess around with it a bit. I don't remeber any kind of smell or the power cord being put in the wrong way. But it is scary that what you d...

Re: benQ e65 need help!
thanks. Tried it and still didn't work. I'm attempting to use JF to flash it now instead, having a VT6421A chip installed. I'm just having trouble getting it into vendor mode, seeing as its e65'ed I can't get the drive to eject to do the half tray open trick. It just gives me 0x7F. Are there any way...

Re: benQ e65 need help!
No like I said I have the correct key, and the firmware I've been writing to it has had that key, and I have backups of that key on my computers hard drive. I'm just worried about getting the xbox to work. I have no idea how I would not plug the drives power in incorrectly seeing as it doesn't fit c...

Re: benQ e65 need help!
Well I'm not using any kind of connectivity kit. I have no idea what you mean, I'm guessing you're talking about the 360's power? Do you mean I had it plugged in upside down while I was flashing it? How could that have an effect on how a flash would take? Sorry for hijacking the other thread, I post...

benQ e65 need help!
Hey guys, I am a noobie flasher, and I recently tried to flash my BenQ drive with iPrep v008. I followed guides and such, and although some of them helped, I ended up getting it to read the key and eventually write firmware to the drive. But alas when I hook the sata back up to the xbox I get 1 red ...
